DDC Ramban launches distribution of free medicines under AYUSH

RAMBAN, Apr 8: In its efforts to prevent spread of Corona virus besides providing all necessary materials, equipments and other supports to frontline workers of different departments which are rendering their services in unprecedented prevailing situation District Development Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan today launched free medical aid cum awareness drive organized by Department of Indian System of Medicines (AYUSH) here at DC office complex, Ramban.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma, ACR, Drindher Sharma, Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Kasturi Lal, Medical Officer ISM besides other District Officer and staff of ISM were also present on the occasion.
DDC directed the District Nodal Officer ISM (AYUSH) Dr. Masood Zargar to ensure that all frontline workers deployed in COVID-19 duties in the district, which are more susceptible to the infection, shall be provided with immunity boosting medicines to enhance their immunity.
While interacting with the team members, the DDC exhorted them to aware the people about the efficacy of Indian System of Medicines in the time of pandemic Covid-19, especially among the frontline workers.
He also advised them to maintain social distancing and follow other guidelines as per protocol while distributing medicines.
DDC said that medicines provided by AYUSH offered a great help in reduction of respiratory disorders, increasing immune system besides also improves overall strength and vitality of humans. He appealed to the public in general and staff deployed in corona virus duties to use medicines of AYUSH and increase immune system.
DDC directed the nodal officer to carry out free medical aids cum awareness drive in all blocks of the district including government offices, quarantine centres, police posts and other major spots.
Earlier, Dr. Zargar informed that these medicines include 17 types of Ayurvedic and Unani medicines, have been provided by the directorate of ISM to distribute among the public especially to frontline workers to boost their immunity.
He further said that another truck load of such medicines will soon be distributed in Ramban district. He said that more requisition has also been demanded from departments and organizations and accordingly more medicines would be brought for distribution.
