Man linked to Tabligi Jammat tests positive for COVID-19 in Kulgam

Kulgam, Apr 8: Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Wednesday reported its first coronavirus case after a man, who had came in contact with a member of Tabligi Jammat, had tested positive. A per reports the coronavirus infected person had came in contact with one of the infected Tabligi Jammat member last month.
“The person, who tested positive for coronavirus today, was put in home quarantine on 26th of last month,” Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shabir Ahmad Bhat told Early Times.
Bhat said that the infected person was shifted to Hospital and but under hospital quarantine minutes after they received report of his sample.
“Infected person has been shifted to hospital and isolated immediately as per the protocol,” he said.
ADC said that COVID-19 teams tracing has began to trace the contacts of infected person.
“This infected person is still asymptotic and hasn’t contacted with much persons. He is immediate family including wife, children and parents are also in home quarantine,” he added.
Meanwhile, the district administration has declared Mohallah Reshipora ward No. 4 as ‘Red Zone’. In addition to this Naikpora ‘A’ & ‘B’ Ward No. 02, Noor Bagh Ward No.05 and Guripora Ward No. 03 as buffer zones.
The Kulgam district magistrate has restricted the inward/ outward movement of people and vehicles in these areas.
