4/9/2020 11:48:30 PM
Srinagar, Apr 9: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Thursday said the ongoing lockdown in view of Covid-19 pandemic would be intensified across the district from tomorrow. Addressing a press conference, Choudhary said the movement of people will be regulated through passes, with one pass valid only for one person. “The lockdown is being intensified and even inter-district movement will be barred,” he said.
The DC informed that 25 zonal committees involving designated zonal officers and locals of the particular areas have been set-up across Srinagar to ensure smooth delivery of services and essential supplies.“We have distributed Srinagar into 25 zones and each zone will have a nodal officer and his team coordinating with locals to ensure smooth delivery of essentials and other services,” he said. Choudhary said a call center is also being set up today for responding to public queries and even receiving information on contact tracing or travel history. He said 14 Red Zones with positive Covid-19 cases were declared in Srinagar out of which three were already sealed.
