DDC visits Gundna, takes stock of availability of essential commodities

DODA, Apr 9: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode visited remotest area of the district Gundna in order to receive first hand information about the problems being faced by the rural people during the ongoing lock down period.
DDC enquired about the availability of essential commodities and ration supply to the area. He also enquired about the dry MDM and anganwadi ration from the BDC Chairperson and concerned Sarpanches of the area besides status regarding distribution of advance two month ration from the TSO.
TSO informed the DDC that 70% of the distribution of the rice is done in the area and supply of flour has been started from the godowns which shall be distributed accordingly.
DDC directed the concerned TSO to ensure 100% distribution of two month advance ration in the area under the fixed timeline in coordination with their concerned authorities so that people of the area shall not face any problem during the lock down restrictions.
DDC also distributed kits of essential commodities and face masks at the doorstep of the recipient without violating the social distancing measures. Representatives and people of the area expressed satisfaction of the work of district administration and said that there is no shortage of supply of essential commodities in the area. They expressed gratitude to the DDC and district administration for working day and night tirelessly during this crisis period for the convenience of the general public and also thanked the district administration for putting in place all the necessary arrangements in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 across the district. Taking a strong concern over the bad condition of the road, DDC Doda had immediately placed one AE and JE under suspension and appointed ACR Doda as the enquiry officer, besides also directed the concerned executing agencies to complete the restoration process of the road within seven days positively so that there shall be hassle free supply of essential commodities as well as ration to the respective area during lock down period.
