With 25 fresh cases positive cases of COVID-19 reach 726 in JK
Active cases are 415 as 303 persons recover

SRINAGAR, May 4: The positive cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 726 today as 25 more persons tested positive for COVID-19. The cases were reported from different districts of the union territory.
Reports said that while 24 cases came to the fore from Kashmir valley one case was reported from Jammu district. From the Kashmir valley the fresh cases of Corona Virus were reported from Baramulla, Budgam, Srinagar, Bandipora, Shopian and Pulwama districts.
While Baramulla reported 12 cases, Budgam accounted for four cases. Srinagar reported three fresh cases while as Shopian and Bandipora reported two cases each while as one case was reported from Pulwama district. In the Jammu division one case was reported from Jammu district.
As on date the Kashmir valley has 664 positive cases of Corona Virus while as the number of such cases in Jammu division is 62. As 303 persons have recovered and eight persons have died the number of active cases of COVID-19 in Jammu & Kashmir are 415. The number of active cases in Kashmir is 407 and in Jammu division number of such cases are eight.
The Jammu & Kashmir government through the media bulletin informed that 25 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), one from Jammu division and 24 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 726.
Out of 726 positive cases, 415 are active positive, 303 have recovered and eight have died. Moreover, 16 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals from Kashmir division. The bulletin said that out of 28,199 test results available, 27,473 samples have tested as negative till May 4, 2020.
“Furthermore, till date 77,656 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which includes 11,850 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 182 in hospital quarantine, 415 in hospital isolation and 7,232 under home surveillance. Besides, 57,969 persons have completed their surveillance period,” said the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Bandipora has 130 positive cases with 68 active positive, 61 recovered, one death; Anantnag district has 109 positive cases with 107 active positive, one recovered, one death; Srinagar 109 positive cases with 32 active positive, 75 recovered two deaths; Baramulla 103 positive cases with 61 active positive, 39 recovered, three deaths;
“Shopian 83 positive cases, 64 active positive, 19 recovered; Kupwara has 66 positive cases with 43 active positive, 23 recovered; Budgam 30 positive cases wherein 18 are active positive and 12 recovered cases; Ganderbal has 14 positive cases and all of them have recovered; Kulgam has 11 positive cases with eight active positive and three recoveries; Pulwama nine positive cases with six active positive, three recovered,” the bulletin said.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 27 positive cases, one active positive 26 have recovered; Udhampur 20 positive cases, 19 recovered and one death, Samba has seven positive cases wherein three are active positive and four have recovered; Rajouri has four positive cases, one active positive and three have recovered; Kathua has one positive case who is active positive; Kishtwar had one positive case who has recovered. Ramban and Reasi districts each have one positive case which is active positive.
The bulletin informed the people that several activities shall continue to remain prohibited across the Union Territory of J&K, irrespective of the categorization of the districts, till further orders. The advisory says all schools; colleges, universities, educational/ training/ coaching institutions, etc. shall remain closed. However, online/distance learning shall be permitted, all social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions/ other gatherings and all religious places/places of worship shall be closed for public, no movement of individuals in all areas between 7 PM and 7 AM, no movement without passes, medical emergencies exempted.
It said that there is a prohibition on all Inter-state, Inter-district and intra-district buses for public transport and private vehicles, all cinema halls, shopping malls, gymnasiums, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theaters, bars, liquor shops, restaurants, spas, saloons, parlours, barber shops and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places, except where permitted in specific categories of districts under Govt. Order No. 49-JK (DMRRR) of 2020 dated 03/05/2020 besides• persons above 65 years of age, persons and with co-morbidities, pregnant women, and children below the age of 10 years, shall stay at home, except for meeting essential requirements or for health purposes.
