Spineless leaders
5/5/2020 11:51:23 PM

Kashmir centric leaders, barring Omar Abdullah, not uttering a word to express solidarity with the bereaved families of the brave hearts, who sacrificed their lives for the country, has once again proved that they are not nationalists.
A Colonel, a Major, two soldiers and Jammu and Kashmir policemen, lost their lives while saving the civilians from the clutches of Pakistan sponsored terrorists in north Kashmir’s Handwara area. Martyrdom of these brave-hearts has sent entire country into mourning. And everyone has paid glowing tributes these brave security personnel who performed their duty till their last breath.
These leaders had no word of condolence for the three Central Reserve Police Force jawans, who attained martyrdom in Handwara town, after being fired upon by the terrorists on Monday. In two days, we have lost eight security personnel but for Kashmir centric parties this is no issue.
After the Handwara killings Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) once again repeated its old raag to initiate a dialogue process and hold talks with so-called stakeholders. The Congress leaders also maintained silence and had nothing to say.
It’s not for the first time that the Kashmir centric parties have not condemned the acts of terrorists. Even when J&K was a State and these politicians used to enjoy all the privileges and the security provided by the central forces, these leaders were the same. Their brand of politics has been different.
During the past seventy years these parties have been selling illusion to the people and have been running their shops by raising hollow slogans. Irony is that most of the Kashmir centric leaders enjoy the security cover which is provided by the central forces. These leaders cannot even move out of their homes without a security guard. They know it very well that if they shun their security the terrorists will target them.
It’s really shameful and pathetic that these leaders have never stood with the security forces whenever, the brave jawans needed their support.
They have once exposed themselves by remaining silent over the killings which are carried out by the terrorists.
It seems they still believe that appeasing Pakistan and the separatist elements in Kashmir is the way forward. Someone needs to tell them that times have changed and Pakistan and the terrorists sponsored by it will get a befitting a reply. And the leaders, who cannot stand along with security personnel, don’t deserve any privileges.
