Banned ‘Jihadi’ groups, pressurize Pak to push terrorists into Kmr
‘Security top brass in National capital closely monitoring situation’

Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, May 13: Under pressure of banned ‘Jaish, Lashkar and Hizbul terrorist organizations, the intelligence inputs indicate that Pakistan is desperate to push in militants in Kashmir.
Top sources in the security establishments told early times that the Indian Army is undertaking steps to re-calibrate its counter-infiltration grid in the wake of a huge number of terrorists arriving at the launch pads along the India-Pakistan border. Sources said that after sensing that the forces were busy in helping the government to contain deadly coronavirus in India, Pakistan has activated terror camps and launching pads along the Line of Control with increased efforts to ensure infiltration of as many terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir.
“We have intelligence inputs that Pakistan has activated many terror training camps and launching pads with 50 of terrorists in each. All these terrorists will infiltrate through LoC wherever and whenever there are opportunities,” the sources in the intelligence agencies told early times.
Sources said that even though the security forces remain on high alert and have enhanced their vigil along the border, many terrorists have been able to infiltrate in recent weeks.
The Intelligence agencies have said that there are nearly 400 terrorists waiting to infiltrate into India and hence the Army has also taken steps to ramp up counter-insurgency strategies to check the intrusion.
Sources said that the field intelligence units of the Army coupled with inputs comprising human intelligence) and technical intelligence indicate that scores of terrorists, mainly of the banned Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Tayiba are waiting across the border to sneak in.
Sources said that the top Army commanders are regularly holding meetings with the formations to work on the re-calibration of Counter Infiltration Grid to ensure that no terrorist gives the slip and reaches the hinterland after crossing the LoC.
Officials further told early times that in the recent past a heavy concentration of terrorists was witnessed across Leepa valley, Athmuqam and Dudniyal, the same area in higher reaches of Keran sector in north Kashmir where a group of five terrorists had infiltrated on April 1 and who were subsequently neutralised on April 5.
The launch pads like Dumail, Sardari and Dhakki, which are normally activated in late summer, had also witnessed the presence of terror groups this time, the sources said.
Among other launch pads that had seen presence of terrorists included Shardi, Neelum valley, Nowshera and even Chakoti, Khoja bandi and Haji Peer, sources maintained.
Sources said that security top brass in New Delhi had been closely monitoring these activities.
It is to mention here that National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, recently chaired a high-level briefing for an operational review of the security situation in Jammu & Kashmir, especially along the Line of Control (LOC).
The meeting, which was attended by RAW Chief Samant Kumar Goel, IB Chief Arvind Kumar, and Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narvane, among others, happened days after the Handwara operation in which the Indian Army lost a Commanding Officer and four other soldiers and jawans.
While the NSA focused on synergy between forces in anti-terror operations, he also focussed on gathering more human intelligence from the ground to thwart the nefarious designs of Pakistan.
Sources said that the meeting also noted that, “Pakistan had failed to control cross-border infiltration under pressure of jihadi leaders of Jaish, Lashkar and Hizbul, and was pushing in terrorists which it would continue to do through May and June this year,”
