EARLY TIMES REPORT

RAJOURI, May 22: People, who have been put in quarantine centre situated at Kalakote, are under immense distress as they are disappointed with the poor quality of food and lack of basic amenities including cleanliness and proper sanitation facilities.
Irked over the inhuman conditions at the quarantine centre, these inmates while undergoing quarantine period have condemned those at the helm of affairs.
The inmates putting up at the centre alleged that the condition of the toilet is poor as it has not been cleaned for many days while water is not being provided to the people daily.
“We were told that the stay at the center will be for the sake of our good health, but the kind of arrangements made in the center has made us believe that instead of protecting us from the deadly coronavirus, our life is being played with,” said the aggrieved people.
Accusing the administration of negligence, they said that despite repeated pleas to the people who were posted in the center, facilities provided at the centre have not been improved.
When contacted Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kalakote, Dr Mohammad Ashfaq said that special care is being taken for cleanliness inside the Quarantine Centre.
The BMO instead of accepting the deficiencies in the centre blamed the inmates saying that people themselves do not take care of their cleanliness and deliberately convert the centre into a mess.
