PCCF (HoFF) JKUT conducts extensive tour of Chenab Circle

JAMMU, May 25: With a prime objective to visit most vulnerable Forest areas amid current lockdown situation, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) J&K and HoFF along with Conservator of Forests, Chenab Circle conducted three days extensive tour of Chenab Circle. The PCCF, J&K Dr Mohit Gera on reaching Batote interacted with the frontline staff and listened to their problems faced during current situation. Later he along with Conservator of Forests, Chenab Circle Sat Paul, DFO Bhaderwah and other officials inspected mechanical cutters seized by Bhaderwah Forest Division during patrolling of vulnerable forest areas. The team later visited Puneja-I Block of Neeru Forest range of Bhaderwah Forest Division. During this visit protection issues of this area were deliberated. The issues of firewood damage during winters by adjoining villages especially Thanala area was highlighted. The concerned officials took PCCF, J&K team to Khani top where directions were given on spot to staff to remain more vigilant and alert. PCCF J&K and CF, Chenab Circle also visited Hanga Forest and inspected the demarcation work completed in 2019-20. The PCCF, J&K then travelled to Jai-I Block of Chiralla Range, where the DFO Bhaderwah explained about topography of different compartments and socio-economic condition of locals. PCCF J&K and CF Chenab along with DFO Batote visited Marmat Range of Batote Forest Division and inspected the damage to Banj trees that had taken place during an attempt to construct a link road in village Shree. PCCF and HoFF, J&K concluded the visit by encouraging the field functionaries to work with full dedication and ensure protection of forests. CF Chenab and DFO were directed to ensure the increased vigil to vulnerable forest areas along with the officials of FPF, enhance night patrolling and provisioning of necessary equipment to staff like high beam torches, mobility, establishing temporary chowkis and strengthening the intelligence network.
