PRS counters open for general public at J&K Railway Stations

Jammu , May 28: PRS (Passenger Reservation System) counters have been opened for general public at various Railway Stations across Jammu & Kashmir. These counters will facilitate the refund for any cancellation of a counter ticket which was booked earlier and could not be refunded due to the prevailing lockdown when passenger train operations were restricted.
Station Director, Northern Railways, Jammu, Chetan Taneja said that these counters will also enable the booking of counter tickets for the Passenger Special Train with numbers 02425/02426 running between Jammu Tawi and New Delhi railway stations since May 13, 2020. This train runs daily between Jammu Tawi and New Delhi Railway Station and has reservation in AC - I, AC - II & AC - III tier, the added.
Giving information about timing the Director said that these PRS counters are opened at Jammu Tawi Railway Station (from 08:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs), Samba Railway Station (from 15:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs), Udhampur Railway Station (from 08:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station (from 08:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs) in Jammu Division of the UT of J&K.
The passengers can get their tickets reserved from any station across the country and also get refund of their tickets which were reserved during the Lockdown period, he also informed.
The passengers are requested to follow the norms regarding COVID-19 while coming to the stations such as covering their faces with masks, maintaining social distancing and keeping Aarogya-setu App downloaded in phones, the Director emphasized.
The PRS counters will further facilitate booking of the tickets in all trains (100 pair trains) that are planned to run across the country starting from June 01, 2020. The facility of booking of tickets departing from any station will be available. This facility is in addition to IRCTC Booking facility, he informed.
