Heavy rain lashes Kishtwar, Doda Districts, brings respite from scorching heat

Kishtwar, May 29: Many areas in Kishtwar and Doda District of Chenab valley today witnessed heavy rainfall in the afternoon as a result of which the people get relief from the scorching heat witnessed by the area since last few days as this year so far witnessed cool temperature as whole.
As per the details available with Early Times, Kishtwar and Doda District including Bhaderwah is witnessing light to heavy drizzles since last two days , but today the rain came little bit heavy flooded streets and roads exposing the Municipality infrastructure.
In Kishtwar the road from Dak Banglow chowk you new DC office remain water logged at many places since the drains on both side of the every busy road was blocked since National Highway authority of India fail to clean these drains that are continuously posing threat leading to Heath hazards.
Similar is the condition in Wasser area of Kishtwar outskirts where the GREF officials since many years fail to construct a proper drainage as a result of which the rain water spills on road beside also enter into the house situated on downside of the road.
The people said that the hotels boom in the area following the shifting of DC office complex in the area also posing threat to health hazards in absence of proper drainage as a result of which the waste material comes out of this hotels also spills on road adding in difficulties to the local inhabitants as well as the daily commuters.
They urged upon DC Kishtwar to look into the matter and ensure proper drainage and widening of road stretch from Kuleed Chowk to New DC office complex.
