5/29/2020 11:31:36 PM

Early times Report

Poonch, May 29: The Forest department Poonch today conducted two eviction drives and retrieved prime land measuring over 26 Kanals, at two different locations.
The first encroachment was a Tin shed in Khasra no. 1893 compartment no. 148/M at BG near Sangam point. The encroachers were attempting to encroach upon the forest land in garb of illegal records on forest land measuring 8 Kanals 9 Marlas. .
The second encroachment removed from forest land is on Khasra no 694 comp 229/H near city forest village Kanuiyan Poonch. The encroachment was removed by a team of forest department along with police & FPF staff in presence of Executive magistrate. The evicted land measuring 18 Kanals 4 Marla was properly fenced after following due procedure, in the light of orders passed by Hon'ble Special Tribunal Jammu”, the press release reads.
Encroacher of Forest land at Khasra no. 694 have attempted encroachment in garb of illegal mutations no. 798 (LB-6/C) and 799 (S-432) attested in their favour in the year 2010. These illegal mutations have been declared void ab-initio and requisite revenue entry has been entered in favour of forest department in revenue records by DC Poonch on the direction of Divisional Commissioner Jammu. After continuous & tirelessly efforts at various levels, forest department has peacefully fenced the area in presence executive magistrate and police along with FPF staff, the Forest dept said.
“Forest department has processed under summarily eviction after giving due opportunity of being heard to interested parties. The delay in fencing of said forest land, was mainly misrepresentation of status of Khasra no. by ADC Poonch and order of Addl. Coommissioner O/o Divisional Commissioner Jammu which has resulted in unfavorable decision for forest department in Special Tribunal at Jammu”, the press release reads, adding, “The delay in fencing has caused further damage to forest crop & its boundary pillar. In this regard, an FIR no. 47/2020 has been registered against involved person in Police Station Poonch under relevant section of law”.
It further states that ADC Poonch has misrepresented khasra No. 694 as non-forest land resulted into unfavorable order from Hon’ble Tribunal for forest department. Addl. Commissioner has passed an order disallowing Poonch forest department for forestry activity on Khasra no. 694 (forest land).
