Advisor Sharma reviews arrangements for conducting class 12 Board Exams in Jammu Division

JAMMU, May 29: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K.K. Sharma, today asked for putting in place a safe mechanism for successful conduct of examinations ( left over papers) of 12th class in the Jammu Division summer zone, which got delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Advisor stated this while speaking at a review meeting convened by JKBOSE for making arrangements for conduct of 12th Class Exams in Jammu Division. Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam, Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education, Atal Dullo, Principal Secretary, Education, Dr Asgar Samoon, Chairperson JKBOSE, Veena Pandita, IGP Jammu, Mukesh Kumar, Directors of Education, Jammu, Kashmir, Anuradha Gupta, Younis Malik and Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division also participated in the meeting through video conference. While asking the Deputy Commissioners about the preparedness regarding holding of the examinations, it was informed that most of the educational institutes can be made available for holding of the exams. It was also given out that alternate arrangements can be made available wherever these are being used as Quarantine or COVID wellness centers.
The meeting decided that Education Department would issue the guidelines for the necessary protocols to be followed by the students while writing the exams in the examination halls. The meeting decided to ensure the necessary fumigation of the proposed centers and other measures to be taken. Financial Commissioner Health was also asked to come up with the list of the necessary precautions to be taken keeping in view protocols already in place in view of the COVID 19 Pandemic.
Chairperson JKBOSE gave a brief overview of the exercise taken by the Board for holding of exams in the Jammu Division.
IGP, Jammu was also asked to provide the necessary logistic and other support for successful holding of the exams, which were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
