KATHUA, May 31: District Development Commissioner, Kathua O.P. Bhagat today inspected works undertaken by Rural Development Department in Dinga-Amb, Mandli, Gujjroo Nagrota & Billawar blocks.
During his extensive tour, the DDC inspected ongoing/completed works taken up by Rural Development Department under flagship programmes viz MG-NREGA, PMAY & 14 F.C.
He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner (Dev) Kathua, Narayan Dutt and BDOs. The DDC inspected ongoing/ completed works includes recharging of ponds, Kools, irrigations canals, play fields, tractor roads, flood protection walls, lanes and drains undertaken in different panchayats of these blocks.
The DDC while inspecting the works laid thrust on using quality material for construction and completion of all the development works within stipulated time frame.
The DDC also interacted with Panchayat members and inspected various works executed by Panchayats. He gave directions to the concerned officers to make concerted efforts to cover all left out households.
The DDC also called upon the field functionaries and member of PRI ‘s to educate people about taking all precautions such as social distancing and frequent hand washing at all times to curb the Covid-19 spread.
During the inspection, various local deputations met the DDC and raised their demands particularly issues regarding RDD and provisions of roads, Drinking water and electricity. The DDC gave them a patient hearing and assured the redressal to their genuine grievances.
