Militants likely gave slip to forces in Anantnag, CASO launched in Pulwama

Anantnag, May 31: The militants have likely given slip to security forces after a brief exchange of fire with security forces in Posh Kreeri area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district here on Sunday.
As per the reports, Cordon and Search Operation was launched in the area following the inputs of militants. The CASO was launched around 2:00 AM by the security forces to locate the militants in the area. The search operation was launched in the area by a joint team forces including 3 Rashtriya Rifle, Central Reserve Police Force and Anantnag Police. Officials said that as forces intensified search operation towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. However, they said no contact was established with the militants thereafter. Nonetheless, as per the local news reports militants have likely managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness, they said. However, there was no official confirmation from the police, while the search operation is still going on in the area when the report was reported.
Meanwhile, the internet which was snapped in the area following the precautionary area was restored later. While, Cordon and Search Operation launched by security forces in the middle of the night, in Karimanad hamlet of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
As per the official sources, combined security forces from 55 Rashtriya Rifles, 182&183 CRPF personnel besides Special Operation Group from Jammu Kashmir Police are conducting searches and operations. While Najar Mohalla, Astan Mohalla and Herpora of Karimabad were under, siege following the inputs about the presence of militants in the area. Sources added that door to door search operations was underway and all the entry and exit points of the village were sealed when this file was reported.
