Webinar under ‘Lockdown Dairy’ held

JAMMU, May 31: Under the aegis of CBSE and NCERT, a group of trained counsellors have taken an initiative titled ‘Lockdown Dairy’ has taken an initiative to render guidance and counselling services to the students, teachers and parents across the country.
‘Lockdown Dairy’, a brainchild of Rajesh Vashisth, a telecounsellor with CBSE and NCERT conducted a webinar on behavioural and mental health , academic and career related issues of students alongwith the livelihood problems being faced by the parents and teachers in their teaching pedagogies due to lockdown in the country.
Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education, Jammu was the chief guest in the webinar, who has been instrumental in initiating guidance and counselling services in Jammu. Based in Toronto, Canada, dietitcian Gauri and Rashi Sethi guided students on healthy and balanced diet and food habits as food habits trigger mood swings leading to behavioural and learning issues amongst the students.
Talking on the issue Gauri told that students will learn to control their mental health along with physical health with a proper diet plan. Sham Chawla , a principal with Kendriya Vidyalaya High Grounds, Chandigarh will dealt with life skills. Michelle Motha from Qatar and Nishtha Khunger discussed career guidance issues. Time management skills were taught by Maneesha from Ahmedabad and Sulekha Yadav from Hydrabad, together. Sonam Chhatwani from Bhopal addressed the issue of substance abuse, George A Thomas and Tina Sharma on Mental Health, Monika Jha on Behaviour Management skills, Doctor Benny from Oman took up Inclusive Education whereas Hemlata Shukla Suri dealt with divyangjan family counselling issues. Renowned psychologist and author Dr Geetanjali Kumar spoke on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and Neeru Attri enlightened on POCSO Act, sexual health and abuse intervention during Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Kumud Shrivastav guided the students about time management and how to prepare for the exams. Moderator counsellor Rajesh Vashisth guided students on how to choose a career.
