Jammu, May 31: Police claimed to have rescued 16 bovines at Naka Tapyal from a truck.
The police party of police station Ghagwal during vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal, signalled to stop a truck bearing Registration number PBO2BN-9885 coming from Punjab and moving towards Srinagar.
On enquiry, driver of the truck produced before the police party the bills of essential commodities being transported in the truck. But when asked for checking the truck, the said driver accelerated the speed of vehicle and tried to flee away from the spot. When chased by police party, the driver abandoned the truck at a few metres distance away from Naka point and managed to escape.
During checking of the said vehicle, 16 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot. |
