1st Online Open J&K UT Taekwondo Poomsae Championship concludes

JAMMU, June 1: The 1st Online Open J&K UT Taekwondo Poomsae Championship, 2020 concluded here today. The event was held by Jammu Kashmir Taekwondo Association (JKTA) in collaboration with the Atul International Taekwondo Academy (AITA) and was supported by Universal Sports India. This was the first time in the history of Indian Taekwondo that such type of event was organized. Around 120+ players all over the UT took part.
The championship had some of the guest participants from USA and Oman. D N Pangotra, President of JKTA said that, Poomsae is neglected in the UT so the main aim was to promote Poomsae in particular and Taekwondo Sport in general. He also said the event will give experience to the athletes for further competitions like these. He also said some of the parents also participated in the championship and that the association is looking forward to organize an event for the parents also in order to help them stay fit and also motivate the young athletes.
