6/1/2020 9:59:36 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jun 1: Dr. Amar Chand Bhagat, Chairperson Lok Adhikaar Mission J&K today said that need based workers (NBW) and casual labourers (CL) numbering in thousands are working in power development department (PDD) since last over 15 years or so working round the clock are risking their lives. He said that a portion of them have not been paid their wages continuously since last so many months and some have even not been paid since last many years.
“There are a dozens of examples across both UTs i.e. J&K and Ladakh in which such people have lost their arms. But very unfortunate part of the matter is that these hapless, poor, approach less people could neither be regularized nor were paid their monthly wages. Some of them could not be uploaded in the portal of the PDD department and as such have been left high and dry,” said Bhagat.
