BBIA appeals to restore OPD/IPD services in ESIC Hospital Bari Brahmana
6/1/2020 10:00:07 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 1: An urgent meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) was held today under the presidentship of Lalit Mahajan in the presence of Tarun Singla, Sr Vice President, Ajay Langer Vice President, Viraaj Malhotra General Secretary, Rajesh Jain Secretary and Vivek Singhal Treasurer BBIA and other members to discuss the issue in respect of problems being faced by industrial workers due to closure of OPD/IPD services in ESIC Hospital due to conversion of hospital into COVID-19 Hospital.
It is pertinent to mention here that at present around 75000 Registered Insured Persons are getting the facilities of OPD/IPD from the ESIC Hospital Bari Brahmana for which the Industrial Workers are paying their hard earned money to ESI Corporation for their treatment and it is unjustified on the part of State Administration for the conversion of ESIC Hospital Bari Brahmana into COVID-19 Hospital and also shifted the Corona positive cases in the Hospital resulting the entry of industrial workers banned for any type of day to day medical assistance and specialized treatment, and in case of any emergency, the unit holders have no option but to send the worker to Govt. Medical College, Jammu for treatment at their own expenses and the IP’s have no option but to get their treatment from private hospitals/clinics for their day to day medical problems.
BBIA requested Lt Governor, GC Murmu for his intervention and also urged Saurabh Bhagat, Commissioner/Secretary Labour & Employment Department for the immediate shifting of COVID-19 patients form the ESIC Hospital Bari Brahmana to other places and open the ESIC Hospital for daily OPD/IPD for the Registered Insured Persons which will provide great relief to industrial workers.
