Contact tracking continues in Kishtwar, hundreds put under quarantine

JAMMU, June 2: A day after four cases reported in Kishtwar District including one positive from Thakrie who travelled to Thakrie, Palmar and even Jangalwar in Thatri before landing in Kishtwar quarantine center create, a panic in entire Kishtwar District as a result of which market wore deserted look in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas.
As per the details available with Early Times, hundreds of primary and secondary contacts including family members had been put under quarantine in last 36 hours and the exercise is still continue when last report came in.
“This is a massive exercise— everyone is on job All men and machinery has been put into service to track down the contacts and shift them to various quarantine centers in the District “ said senior officials added that Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar is personally supervising the arrangements at quarantine centers.
The officials said that major of the quarantine centers in Paddar, Dool, Kishtwar, Thakrie and Palmar are now full of people with more quarantine centers has been made active.
The officials including ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kumar Parihar, ACR Dr Amir Hussain, BDO Nagsini Abhey Indu Sharma, BDO Dachhan Parveen Kumar, Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramood Kumar, BMO Kishtwar Dr Gansham Singh could be seen at forefront at various quarantine center.
Patwar Halqa Keshwan Abid Rashid Mughal lead the operation along with police party led at front in shifting the primary and secondary contacts of COVID positive so as to shift them to various quarantine centers.
The officials told the Early Times that around 6-7 persons who are secondary contact of the COVID 19 positive case added that they are going to act tough against such people who are creating hurdle in ongoing exercise of shifting of contacts to quarantine centers.
A mega kitchen has also been started area wise to feed the quarantine center and as per reports over 1000 people are under quarantine in Kishtwar District.
Similar reports are also pouring in from Paddar where senior officials like SDPO Padder Pardeep Sen, Tehsildar Paddar, SHO Paddar and BMO Paddar are at forefront to prevent the spread of the disease in the Paddar sub Division that has witnessed three positive cases.
The restrictions have also been put in place at Paddar, Thakrie and Palmar and no movement of vehicles and people is being allowed from these areas.
Meanwhile, the fresh inputs revealed that Thakrie COVID 19 positive also visited Jangalwar area of Thathri and had a liquor party with some people in the area.
Following the development, a party from Thathri immediately rushed in the area to put the contacts of the area under quarantine.
In addition, one more positive case was today found in Doda District with a women travel history from Delhi found positive.
The woman hails from Bhaderwah and is already in administrative quarantine.
Senior officials though term the development as alarming, but said that the situation is under control and people did not need to get panic. The administration asked the people to stay indoors.
