Ghar Wapsi delayed: Omar Abdullah to extend Delhi visit
6/2/2020 11:32:21 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, June 2: Even as former Chief Minister and National Conference President Omar Abdullah recently left for New Delhi citing health grounds, the Abdullah family scion is likely to extend his trip to the national capital.
Sources said apart from getting a health check up done from a private hospital in New Delhi, Omar looks ahead to spend some time at his plush flat in south Delhi.
Sources said he looks ahead to fulfill “some family obligations apart from meeting his close friends in the national capital.”
Though the sources in the National Conference have been maintaining that Omar’s trip is purely apolitical and that he has gone for a health checkup, sources said he would stay back there.
Sources said though Omar had told his party colleagues in Kashmir that he would be back within three-four days, he has changed is plan.
Sources said Omar looks ahead to stay mostly at his flat in Nizam Ud Din locality.
It was reliably learnt that some of his well wishers and friends in New Delhi have already called him on phone to inquire about his visit and if a “get together was possible.”
Since the moment, Omar flew out of Kashmir, he has been trying his best to defend that his trip to Delhi is purely on health grounds for which he had sought permission from Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.
From posting his picture boarding the Air Asia plane to sharing details of his permission granted by the government Omar has even been refuting news reports that his travel to Delhi was politically motivated or for other private issues.
Sources said in the wake of rumor mongering, Dr Farooq and other senior NC leaders want Omar Abdullah to return home at an earliest.
“There are numerous requests sent to him that he gets back to native Kashmir at an earliest but it looks that he may extend his trip,” said a source.
Despite repeated attempts Omar couldn’t be contacted for comment.
