Vijaypur, June 3: Requesting the government to roll back hike on road taxes of old vehicles registered before August 3, 2019, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) senior leader, and former minister, Manjit Singh today appealed Lt Governor Girish Chander Murmu to announce financial package for the transporters of the Union Territory.
Concerned over the plight of the commercial, passenger vehicles owners, their drivers, and helpers – conductors, the J&K Apni Party leader appealed the Government to look into their sufferings and help them to come out of the financial crises they are passing though amid the ongoing Covid-19 lockdown in the Jammu and Kashmir like rest of the country.
The pandemic situation has caused extra-ordinary damage to the survival of the truckers, bus operators, drivers and conductors who were dependent upon public movement which got curved in view of the corona virus spread free, he said.
