National Sikh Front preparing face masks from unused turbans
6/3/2020 11:21:15 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 3: A turban is pride of Sikhs and they can even sacrifice their lives to maintain its honour. There are several examples in history that the turban has also served to save lives, when needed. This was stated by National Sikh Front Chairman S. Varinderjeet Singh, while taking stock of the preparing of face masks from the unused turbans provided by the Sikh families and discussing the mode of distribution of the same with Front President S. Kulwant Singh Bhatti, Vice President Malvinder Singh and Jammu District President Honey Singh. He said that in view of the conditions created due to Corona Virus in the country today, National Sikh Front has decided to collect unused turbans from the Sikh families to make face masks, which will be distributed among poor families within next few days and on opening of government schools these protective covers will also be distributed among the students. S.Varinderjeet Singh said that the Sikhs, who have been always on fore front in the times of crisis and famous only for organizing langars, are today willingly gifting their turbans to save humanity, which has been widely appreciated. The Chairman said that this decision of collecting unused turbans was taken a few days ago by our organization in the interest of the poor people and on our appeal we are getting colourful cloth in the shape of turbans, from which ten thousand masks are being prepared in first phase, which will be completely sanitized and pressed by Steam Press before packing for stock to be distributed.
