Early Times Report

Jammu, June 5: Amid ambiguity over start of annual Shri Amarnath Yatra, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board on Friday performed ‘Pratham Pujan’ with religious fervor.
The pujan was performed here at Talab Tillo based office of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board Bipul Pathak, Anoop Kumar Soni, Additional CEO, Rajesh Gupta, Working President VHP, Sanjay Baru Councillor alongwith others participated in the ‘Pujan’.
Mr Pathak here told media, “this pujan is performed in routine at Chandanwari (Kashmir) during yatra on the day of Jayesht Purnima but this year due to pandemic, it is performed here.”
He further said that preparations for yatra are going on and this ‘pujan’ is part of that and added, “moreover religious places are being opened up after June 8 and fresh guidelines will be issued which will also paved the way for the SASB yatra commencement.”
Mr Pathak, however, denied the report of cut shorting the pilgrimage period to 15 days and said, “The preparations are in progress and all measures have to be taken keeping in view the Corona pandemic and decisions will be taken accordingly.”
Meanwhile, VHP working president, Rajesh Gupta said, “We hope that best possible facilities are to be provided and also hope that with this ‘pratham pujan’, Baba Amarnath shower blessings upon all of us and the pandemic gets over across the world and the pilgrimage begins without any hurdles.”
