JAMMU, June 5: In a significant development, the government has ordered to check the duplication of job cards besides to verify the eligibility of few job card holders including the wives and family members of government employees, who otherwise were not entitled for the same.
It is in place to mention here that the Early Times highlighted the issue of job cards issued to wives of Gazetted officers, family members of government employees and top businessmen while the poor people were denied the same.
As per the details available with Early Times, following order of job card verification issued by Secretary RDD&PR Sheetal Nanda, various officials across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir began the exercise for recertification of job cards including in Kishtwar District.
As per the order issued by Secretary RDD&PR, the job card verification will be completed by five teams at different levels which included Team 1 comprising of Panchayat Inspectors, VLWs, GRS, PROs and job card holders of the concerned ward, Team 2 comprising of Secretary Panchayat, Block MID operator, Team 3 comprising of PO/JSA/Junior Assistant, Team 4 comprising of BDO, District Level MIS Operator and Team 5 to be comprised of SO (Planning), Junior Assistant and Block MIS Operator, who will physically conduct the verification of Job Cards registered, Matchi

g with online register, Physical check and updation of entries in each job card, checking of individual account on MPay and verification of ADHAAR seeding in MIs.
As per the order the exercise will be completed within 15 days from June 5 to 20 and the progress will be compiled by DBOs at block level, ACD at District level and Director RDD Jammu/Srinagar at Divisional level.
The order further stated that all those labourers who had returned back to their homes due to COVID-19 pandemic are entitled for the job cards if not issued earlier subjected to their willingness to work.
Meanwhile, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik today also held a detailed review meeting with BDOs of Kishtwar District directing them to finish the job card verification within stipulated time frame.
It is pertinent to mention that poor people had been denied job cards in many blocks while influential persons hold multiple job cards in a single family.
As per reports several job cards issued on the names of females and among them majority of them did not turn up for work particularly the wives and family members of influential government employees who were forcing the officials at the helm of affairs to transfer money in these accounts without reporting for work as well as to give them various monitory benefits against various government run schemes.
