EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 6: A telephonic meeting of Sikh United Front (SUF) J&K an amalgam of Various Sikh Organizations J&K held under the chairmanship of its chairman Sudershan Singh Wazir. The meeting was joined by Dayal Singh Wazir Chairman Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, HS Raina Ex-General Secretary DGPC Jammu, Mohinder Singh Chief Organizer Bhai Kaniya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and Ex Member DGPC Jammu and Darbinder Singh President Shiromani Akali Dal J&K and Kulwant Singh Khajuria Joint Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K.
During the meeting, Sudershan Singh Wazir extended his greetings on the auspicious day of the Prakash Purab of the 6th Guru Hargobind Sahib ji. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the whole world from the Covid-19 pandemic and appealed to the Sikh Sangat to follow the path shown by sixth Guru who has done a lot for the people of the country.
Meanwhile, feeling remorseful Wazir said that members of the community bore the brunt of anti-Sikh riots in November 1984. Even after many years, justice had not been done with the members of the Sikh community who lost their kin and property in the anti-Sikh riots. More than a dozen commissions have been constituted but none has been able to fix responsibility for the massacre and destruction of property. He said that the Sikh community was still waiting for justice. He said that the incident had made a mockery of Indian democracy given the fact that 3,000 Sikhs were massacred in a single city while the guilty were never booked.
