Early Times Report

Jammu, June 13 As security forces kill 100 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir this year so far, Pakistan resorted to over 2000 ceasefire violations along LoC and international border during the same period to push terrorists into India.
In 2019, Pakistan violated ceasefire for record 3168 times along the borders of Jammu and Kashmir.
Defence sources here told on Saturday that Pakistan Army is violating the truce agreement to push terrorists into India even amidst COVID-19 pandemic. Higher number of ceasefire violations and infiltration attempts resulted in elimination of around 100 terrorists so far this year including the top commanders of terror outfits, sources said.
Terrorists are on the run as Indian Army in synergy with Jammu and Kashmir Police, Para-military Forces and Intelligence Agencies maintain high vigil along the borders and in the hinterlands, sources said.
As per data available with in the current year till June 10, Pakistan violated the ceasefire for 2027 times and in response, Indian Army every time gave a befitting reply to the cross border firing. In the month of January, Pakistan violated ceasefire for 367 times, in February for 366 times, in March for 411 times, in April for 387 times, in May for 382 times and in first 10 days of June, its 114 times.
Moreover, in 2019, they violated the truce agreement for 3168 times and in 2018 for 1629 times. “In the first five months of 2020, the number of ceasefire violations from Pakistan’s side are much higher compared to 2019 and 2018 despite Corona Virus crisis,” sources added. Sources also disclosed to UNI that in June so far, 100 terrorists of different outfits have been killed in combat operations in J&K which also included top commanders of Hizbul Mujaheedin and Jaish-e-Mohammad.Jammu based Defence Spokesman, Lt Col Devender Anand said, “Indian Army in prevailing scenario is fighting on two fronts supporting ‘Awaam’ and guarding borders as well as in hinterland with utmost alertness which is evident by so many successful operations in recent past.” He further added sanctity of LoC and IB is also being secured assuring the ‘awaam’ (civilians) full security in their routine life.” Army has also claimed that under operation All Out, they are making terrorists on the run following which they have started facing the weaponry crunch in the Kashmir Valley.
Defence sources said that Pakistan is desperately trying to smuggle weapons and stores as most of the ‘Tanzeems’ (outfits) have run out of weapons.
“Latest operations in Shopian when nine terrorists were killed in two days, it was revealed that terrorists of even HM are forced to fight empty handed as there is acute shortage of weapons among terrorists,” sources added.
