JAMMU, June 14: Parmaarth, a Charitable Trust based in Jammu, has done commendable work amidst COVID-19 pandemic. Parmaarth initially launched a mission naming “COMBAT COVID-19: DARNA NAHI LADNA HAI” before the announcement of lockdown by Government of India, the intention of which was to provide protective gears to the most vulnerable sections of society and aware them about the virus. Under this mission, the volunteers of the Trust distributed free face masks, hand sanitizers, hand washes and citrus fruits in various orphanages and old age homes across Jammu, Udhampur and Poonch. Parmaarthis also ensured the distribution of the same items among poor people and labourers of District Rajouri. A total of 180 kits were given to people living in Narwal, Malik Market, Bahufort, Kaliki Colony, Rajiv Colony and Qasim Nagar areas; 52 kits were given to people in Paloura and Jaggi Darbar. Another set of 6 kits were given to the people in Talab Tilo. 8 kits donated in Rehari, 19 kits in Janipur area and 27 kits to people in Katra, Domel, Dansal and Jindrah. And afterwards 50 more kits were donated to the people of Udhumpur Region. 20 kits were given to people in Poonch and 50 kits were distributed among people living in Gandhi Nagar, Nanak Nagar and Trikuta Nagar. Another set of 116 kits were donated to the people of Resham Ghar, Gurha, Bakshi Nagar, Janipur Shant Nagar, BSF Paloura and Muthi area. It all makes for a donation of around 530 total kits.
