DC conducts extensive tour of Budhal; assesses public grievances

RAJOURI, June 29: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, paid a visit to Budhal area of tehsil Koteranka of district Rajouri to reach out to the public at the grass-root level and take first-hand appraisal of their grievances besides reviewing facilities and arrangements being provided in the Quarantine Centres amid COVID-19.
Scores of people including senior citizens, women, youth, retired Government employees were present on the occasion who projected their demands and issues including immediate augmentation of power supply and medicare facilities, scarcity of water, improvement in road condition, SBM, MGNREGA and PMAY payments, and encroachment of the Rajnagar-Gabbar road.
Deputy Commissioner, while speaking on the occasion, said that the district administration is working tirelessly to provide all basic facilities with focus on adequate drinking water and power supply, health, education and related services to the people. He said that the main purpose for conducting these types of tours is to listen to the grievances of the public at their doorsteps besides taking feedback from the schemes beneficiaries.
Regarding encroachment of Rajnagar-Gabbar road, DC visited the spot and directed the Assistant Commissioner Development to send the proposal for extension of road by 1KM so that work can be started at the earliest.
Deputy Commissioner assured the public that all their genuine demands and issues shall be redressed in a time-bound manner. He also urged upon the locals to cooperate with the district administration in its fight against Corona Virus pandemic by following all the SOPs to contain spread of this infection in the district.
