Kishtwar administration make COVID 19 test mandatory for service providers

Jammu, June 29: As a major step towards prevention of spreading of COVID 19 infection in Kishtwar District that has witnessed lowest number of cases in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, District Administration Kishtwar today made COVID 19 test mandatory for all the service provider. Speaking to Early Times, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh said that owners of all retail shops, meat sellers, vegetable vendors, chemists, clinical establishments, restaurants, hotels, dhabas, eateries, Internet cafes, barbers, saloons, parlours & professional drivers and others had been advised to get themselves and all workers working in these establishments tested for COVID 19 test fortnightly. He said that no person shall be allowed to run or work in these outlets without possessing a valid COVID 19 negative report added that heavy fine will be levied upon the defaulters.
DC Kishtwar said that all these steps are being taken for safeguarding the general public of Kishtwar District from Corona Virus.
He said that the tests will be conducted at District Hospital Kishtwar and Municipality officials will felicitate and ensure that all the service providers will be tested. Speaking to Early Times, doctor associated with COVID 19 duty inform that all the required documentations will be conducted before collection of samples at District Hospital added that in case anyone after getting himself or herself enrolled did not turn up for the testing will be slapped with fine to the tune of Rs. 5000 or more.
He said that Kishtwar District has only five active COVID 19 while around 20 patients had already been successfully treated for the disease. He said that among the five active cases, three had almost completed the treatment and will be released from the hospital in next few days once the final report came as negative. He said that around 120 people are under quarantine at various centers in District.
He said that the team of doctors two days ago conducted random sampling of old age persons in Thakrie area from where a positive case was reported 5-6 weeks ago.
He said that the COVID 19 tests are being conducted free of cost at District Hospital.
