EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 29: A senior functionary of Congress party has lodged a complaint against a senior party leader for allegedly neglecting him during a recent protest demonstration organized against the fuel hike.
Though the protest was launched by the senior functionary against a party leader and the letter was shot to the party president but same was exposed to the media houses and social networking sites by the leader, which points towards deep resentment against the party leader.
The trigger for the latest confrontation with the senior leader erupted following a protest demonstration launched by Party at district levels, in which the senior functionary had also participated along with his supporters but was allegedly ignored, which is mentioned in the letter.
According to the letter forwarded to the State Party president, the senior functionary has claimed that he had been affiliated with the
Indian National Congress for more than three decade as staunch worker and remained in the youth Congress as General Secretary Pradesh Youth Congress, Secretary JK Pradesh Congress Committee and remained as vice president in local body. He has further said that he had contested elections to local bodies twice and also served as Assembly election coordinator seven times in all India level including Rajasthan, Delhi, Bihar, Punjab, Gujarat beside other areas. For his work, he has also reportedly received an appreciation certificate during Delhi elections. Mentioning about the latest cause of resentment the senior party functionary has alleged that he had been continuously ignored by a senior party functionary of the district. He goes on to claim that he had participated in a protest demonstration over fuel hike in which he along with his supporters had participated. “But my name and designation was not mentioned in the press release issued by party to the press, which hurt me a lot and I feel humiliated because I am Secretary”, the letter reads targeting the senior party leader of the district. The senior functionary has alleged that apart from him many other senior leaders of the party were not happy with the working style of the senior leader and it was not a good sign for the future of party, whose senior leaders have been ignoring the grass root workers.
He has requested the party president to take appropriate action and in the concluding part of the letter he has written his designation, name as well as phone number, which signaled towards the intention of senior functionary to leak the letter to media persons.
