Transfer order holds no importance for XEn PHE Ramban, fails to relieve JE

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 29: Despite being transferred by the office of Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Department, Jammu around six months ago, the office of Executive Engineer Ramban Division continue to retain an influential Junior Engineer (JE).
The JE is not being relieved, who in fact, has been overstaying at one place since over a decade, said sources.
Sources told Early Times that the Junior Engineer posted in Ramban Division was lately transferred as per order No: CE/PHEJ/GE/12469-93 dated 06-12-2019, but he was not relieved by the office of Executive Engineer, PHE Ramban Division and the Junior Engineer continue to stay there by managing a corrigendum in January.
“Now recently the office of Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Department issued another order No. PHEJ/GE/1660-64 dated 9-6-2020 wherein it was mentioned that the corrigendum issued in favour of Tanveer Ahmad Junior Engineer (Civil) vide this office No PHEJ/GE/115562-65, dated 23-1-2020 is hereby withdrawn in his favour and he will report to Jal Shakti PHE Division Doda, as per the transfer order which stood already issued vide this office No CE/PHEJ/GE/12469-93, dated 6-12-2019,” the sources informed.
It is very shocking to see that although it has been 20 days since the directions have been issued by the Chief Engineer office but the office of Executive Engineer Ramban has not relieved the JE yet and continue to retain him with it by defying the order of his superior. When contacted the Executive Engineer Ramban PHE Ramban, Nazeer Ahmad, said that there is no other person in his place to take charge of the department store. That is why he is not relieving the JE. He further said that they are trying to make some arrangements and then he will be relieved. When he was asked how long the JE has been staying in the division, the XEn replied that it has been five years. But the fact of the matter is that JE has been overstaying since years in sheer violation of transfer policy.
