Farooq Abdullah returns to sow seeds of hatred, divisive politics: Raman Suri
6/30/2020 10:07:38 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 30: Coming down heavily on former Chief Minister of J&K, Farooq Abdullah, for opposing the Domicile Certificate and other historic decisions of scrapping Article 370, 35A and adopting the principle of One Constitution, One Head, One Flag, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that leaders like him were always opposed to giving rights to women, West Pakistan refugees, Balmikis, Gorkhas and other sections of society settled in J&K since independence.
Raman Suri said, having kept people of Kashmir in dark and playing with their sentiments, what leaders like Farooq Abdullah promoted was violence which suited their divisive politics. Such leaders never appreciated the contribution of people of Kashmir in nation-building and inculcated hatred amongst them. This was nothing but a separatist ideology that was against the efforts of the people of Kashmir, who are succeeding in their lives by either studying in other parts of the country or doing their businesses to make fortune or are settling in metro cities for their convenience. The BJP leader said, the statements of Farooq Abdullah that "We are against whatever they have done" and "We have seen days when masjids were converted into stables" are nothing but roping in religion to garner support, exploit sentiments of people and then come back to his original position wherein he could spread hate, divide people and try to regain lost ground for his party that did nothing but looted the state exchequer and built its own mansions. Raman Suri said, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are wise enough to understand Farooq Abdullah's rhetorical outbursts.
