ACB produces chargesheet against ex Dy Excise Comm in graft case

JAMMU, June 30: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu produced chargesheet against the then Dy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu in case FIR No. 42/2018 P/S VOJ (now ACBJ) U/S 5 (1) (d) r/w 5 (2) J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 and section 4-A of PC Act 2006 in the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Jammu. The instant case was registered on 21.12.2018 on a written complaint lodged by one Col HDS Rainal, son of Late Dalip Singh, resident of 243 Sector 1 Channi Himmat Jammu against Syed Muried Hussain Shah, son of Naseeb Shah, resident of village Gursai, BPO Gursai, Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch, then Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu wherein it was alleged that the latter demanded a bribe of Rs 2, 00000 (2 lakh) from him for renewal of his Wine Shop License No. 204/JKEL-02. On receipt of said complaint, a case FIR No 42/2018 was registered at Police Station VOJ (now ACB) under relevant sections of law and investigation was taken up. Thereafter a trap was laid and said Dy Excise Commissioner was caught red handed while demanding and accepting Rs 2 lakh as illegal gratification from the complainant in presence of the independent witnesses. The accused Dy Excise Commissioner was arrested on spot and investigation was concluded as proved against the said accused Shah, then Dy. Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu for commission of offences U/S 5 (1) (d) r/w 5 (2) J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 and section 4-A of PC Act 2006. After completion of investigation the Challan against accused Dy Excise Commissioner was presented before the court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Jammu for judicial determination.
