Security Forces avenge killing of minor boy, gun down two ISJK militants in Bijbehara

Anantnag, June 30: Security forces on Tuesday gunned down two ISJK terrorists in Waghama village of Bijbehara, who according to them, were involved in the killing of a minor boy and CRPF Jawan.
The slain terrorists have targeted CRPF Jawans on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at Padshahibagh Bijbehara and killed one CRPF jawan and a 8 year old child on last Friday [26th of June 2020] Acting on specific input generated by Anantnag Police regarding presence of militants in village Waghama area of Anantnag, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by JKP , 3RR and CRPF in the said area, Police said in a communiqué
“During the search operation as the presence of militants got ascertained they were given the opportunity to surrender, however they fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party, which was retaliated leading to an encounter,” they said.
In the ensuing encounter, Police said, 02 unidentified militants were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. “The identification and affiliation of the killed militants is being ascertained” police said. Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Mr Vijay Kumar said that both the killed militants along with another militant Zahid were involved in killing of one Policeman last year and killings of two CRPF personnel and one minor boy recently.
Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their complicity in other militant crimes.
The dead bodies of the killed militants have been sent to Handwara for their last rites after conducting medico-legal formalities including collection of their DNA. In case any family claims the killed militants to be their kith or kin, they can come forward for their identification and participation in last rites at Handwara.
