‘Influential’ police inspector defies 2 transfer orders
7/1/2020 11:48:59 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, July 1: An influential J&K police inspector has defied the two transfer orders issued by the Police Headquarter (PHQ) during the past seven months and continues to cling on to his old place of posting.
According to the sources, an Inspector ranked officer, who was promoted in 2019 to the rank and transferred vide 3078 of 2019, dated 31-12-2019 from Traffic Wing to Crime Branch of J&K police has managed to stall his transfer, not once but twice, allegedly using his clout in the department.
According to sources, the said Inspector under some unknown influence didn’t leave the post of DTI, National Highway in Ramban and remained stationed at the same post. Later, in another order 1720 of 2020, dated 12-06-2020 the said inspector once again was instructed to join Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) by the PHQ, but he again stayed affirm and didn’t leave the chair of DTI.
“It is really surprising that an inspector is not ready to follow the orders of the PHQ and senior officers are not prepared to take any action against him. There are several ifs and buts in everyone’s mind about seniors ignoring the matter,” said sources.
“The Inspector is enjoying his service at the same posting and no officer is taking note of it, which means something is fishy,” they added.
When contacted IGP Traffic J&K, T Namgyal said, “The Inspector has been relieved from the posting.”
