| Safai karmacharis of JMC threaten to go on strike | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 2: Civic Safai Karmachari Union of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has threatened to launch an indefinite strike if its demands are not conceded by the authorities.
In a press release issued here today, the Union said that Safai Karamcharis are also the part of the JMC but they are being constantly ignored, adding that if the authorities fail to pay attention to their plight then there is no option other than to come on roads and go for indefinite strike.
The Union demanded that the issues of Safai Karamcharis working in JMC should be addressed at the earliest. It demanded that the Safai Karamcharis working on permanent, casual basis, and NGO should get salary on 1st of every month as they are working so hard entire month and the deserve the salary at time, Safai Karamcharis working on permanent and casual basis should also get the benefit of ESIC medical scheme as was done for NGO workers, Safai Karamcharis working on casual basis and NGO should get the salary according to the rules of Union Territory beside raising several other demands and issues.
