JAMMU, July 2: In a major Information Technology initiative in the district, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, today conducted the first e-Darbar with the public of tehsil Bhalwal.
The participants from 20 Panchayats, including BDC Chairperson, Kuldeep Raj and Sarpanchs & Panchs of Panchayats from across the Block Bhalwal and Mathar of Tehsil Bhalwal, apprised Deputy Commissioner about their issues one by one.
The participants attended the video conference from the office of Tehsildar Bhalwal along with other sectoral officers, while the Deputy Commissioner also attended the video conference from her office VC Studio along with the district officers.
The main issues raised by the participants were pertaining to Road Connectivity, Power and Water Supply, up-gradation of Health and Education Centres, easy availability of seed & fertilizers etc.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu directed all the concerned District officers to resolve these issues at the earliest.
The officers of Jal Shakti, Power and Public Works Departments were also directed to conduct field visits keeping in view the concerns raised by the public representatives within next couple of days.
The participants appreciated the new initiative of the administration for reaching out to the public through the use of Technology and directly at the doorsteps of the people, particularly keeping in view the COVID restrictions on public gathering and adherence to the norms of physical distancing.
The move of the district administration has not only facilitated the quick redress of issues of remote areas of the District, but also saved considerable time of public.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner informed that these eDarbars will be made a regular feature covering each of the 21 Tehsils over the next one month.
She also informed that during the next eDarbar of tehsil Bhalwal, action taken on all issues raised by the participants shall be reviewed with the concerned district / sectoral officers so that timely remedial intervention is made simultaneously, along with hearing the grievances.
She also said that this kind of public hearing will enable strengthening the PRIs at the grass root level by making them stakeholders in the implementation of District CAPEX and other centrally sponsored schemes.
