JAMMU, July 2: Kashmiri Pandit migrant relief holders have threatened to launch massive protests against government for not mitigating their genuine demands which they have been projecting time and time again.
It was stated by Jagti Tenement Committee and Soan Kashmir Front J&K during a meeting held at Jagti camp near here under the leadership of its president Shadi Lal Pandita.
While addressing the meeting difficulties of Kashmiri Pandit relief holders were discussed. Shadi Lal Pandita said that Kashmiri Pandit migrant relief holders who are living a very difficult life as their monthly cash assistance was very low to mitigate their day to day expenses as prices of essential commodities were touching a sky high and living of a relief holder under these circumstances has become an uphill task.
He said that we have submitted many memorandums to Prime Minister and Home Minister of India regarding the enhancement of monthly cash assistance of relief holders from Rs 13000 to Rs 25000 a month per family but our pleas fall to deaf ears till date, he added.
We would like to urge respective governments at centre as well as J&K UT Admin that our demands be considered on priority or we will have no other option to take to streets to launch massive protests in favour of our genuine demands, Pandita maintained.
