Early Times Report

REASI, July 2: The District Fund Office of this district in Jammu division is facing a severe dearth of the staff and the same is taking a toll not only on the people as a large, but also on the employees who are posted there.
Sources told Early Times that the Fund Office, Reasi is operating with just 15 percent staff with the remaining 85 percent staff not in place. They said that 18 posts have been sanctioned for the District Fund Office, Reasi and out of this only three posts have been filled adding that 15 posts are vacant. “At the District Fund Office Reasi some of the important posts have not been filled thus resulting into problems for common masses in general and the employees in particular. Although, the matter is very important, but still then no corrective measure has been taken so far,” said sources. Sources said that a post each of Accounts Officer, Section Officer, Examiner and Junior Assistant are vacant at the District Fund Office, Reasi. They said that two posts of Senior Compiler, six posts of Junior Compiler and three posts of orderly are also lying vacant at the District Fund Office, Reasi.
Pawan Kumar, who retired from the government services after serving in the Department of Revenue said that the work which would normally be completed in few days is completed in months since the requisite staff is not in place at the District Fund Office, Reasi. Similar views were echoed by Jagdish Raj, a former employee of Department of Forests.
An officer placed at the District Fund Office, Reasi told Early Times that the staff is facing huge brunt since the sanctioned staff is not in place adding that he cannot go to his home since the junior officer has not been posted at the office. Repeated attempts to contact Director Finance did not bore fruit as the mobile was out of coverage area.
