SAMBA, July 3: Police foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines after arresting 2 bovine smugglers and by rescuing 18 bovines under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding smuggling of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal laid a strong vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal and intercepted a truck bearing Regd No PB10GK 5003 which was coming from Punjab and moving towards Kashmir Valley. During checking of the vehicle, 18 cattle were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. The accused driver identified as Ashwani Kumar, son of Kher Singh, resident of Basal, Tehsil and District Una, Himachal Pardesh along with his associate Mohd Yasin, son of Gama Ahmed, resident of Satha Khorju Nallah, Tehsil & District Samba have been arrested. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was In this connection, a case FIR No 66/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation taken up. |
