Cancel delimitation based on Census 2011 to dispense justice to Jammu: Mahajan
Prominent citizens from Jammu join UDA
7/3/2020 10:28:15 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 3: A large number of prominent citizens of Jammu on Friday joined United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in a programme held at New Rehari Office.
They were welcomed into the party fold by UDA Convener Munish Sahani, (Retd) IGP Sudhir Dogra General Secretary, Rajiv Mahajan Spokesperson and Media In-charge, Co-Conveners (Retd) Col S S Pathania, Krishan Manhas, Kulbir Singh Slathia, Rajinder Gupta and Gajan Singh Khajuria.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Mahajan, Spokesperson, said that UDA with each passing day garnered support as more and more people are joining it as they have realized that their interests, the interests of the UT and that of the nation can only be safeguarded by UDA.
“The UDA was formed with an aim to defeat the pro-Pak and anti-national forces who are hell bent upon to destroy the century old communal harmony, brotherhood, peace and prosperity of J&K and hence more and more prominent people are joining the Alliance,” Mahajan said.
Prominent among those who joined UDA included Prem Sharma, Rakesh Badyal, Jaswinder Singh (Kuku) International Hockey Player, Dr Karan Gupta, Sanjay Jandyal and Sanjeev Sharma.
All the members made an appeal to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister of India to eschew the dangerous idea of conducting delimitation on the basis of the 2011 fraudulent census.
“Conducting delimitation of Assembly/ Parliamentary constituencies in Jammu & Kashmir on the basis of census 2011 is the surest way to once again sell out Jammu and keep it hostage to fundamentalist Kashmiri,” they said.
Rajiv Mahajan while demanding cancellation of the recently issued notification providing for the constitution of a Delimitation Commission tasked to delimit constituencies on the basis of 2011 census. Mahajan urged the BJP Government to wait for the results of 2021 census operations.
