Document goes viral, netizens term it as ‘advance booking’ for transfers

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 3: A transfer order of lecturers issued ostensibly by the School Education Department dated 7th July 2020, went viral on social networking sites on Friday, four days before it had to be issued, netizens mocked the order as an advance booking of transfers.
An order, which was supposed to be issued by the School Education department on 7th of July 2020, appearing on social networking sites well in advance left the School Education Department red faced.
The order issued by School Education Department, in subject reads, “Transfer/postings of lecturers while the number of order was also marked which reads, Government order number 153-Edu of 2020 dated 7/7/2020 and it further reads, in the interest of administration following lecturers are transferred and posted with immediate effect. The total number of lecturers transferred/posted are 32 in number and all belonged to Jammu province. The order has the name of Principal Secretary to Government Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon (IAS) dated 3rd of July 2020, while the order bears the signature of Additional Secretary to Government School Education Department without mentioning the name. However the post of Additional Secretary to School Education department is held by Naseer Ahmad Wani.
However if go by the signing authority of the order, the date is mentioned 3rd of July but it was interesting to note that the order had date and number with date of July 7th. “Once the order gets date and number by the dispatched section, it only became an official order and as per the date and number, the order is meant for 7th of July but how the department can be issuing the orders of 7th of July on 3rd of July seems very surprising”, an official said, adding that if the order was genuine then it points towards something seriously wrong in the functioning of the department.
As the order was updated in circulation of 3rd of July, netizens mocked the order as an advance booking for the transfers of lecturers. The netizens pointed out that if the order was really authentic it needed to be investigated as how the department could be issuing orders of the future days in advance too with date and number. “It points towards the manipulation of records at the highest level of the administration and raises questions over the working ethics of the department’’, an official said.
However the authenticity of the order was not ascertained as the calls and Whatsapp messages sent to the Director School Education Jammu Anuradha Gupta as well as Principal Secretary to School Education Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, didn’t elicit any reply till the filing of the news report. The Additional Secretary to School Education Department Naseer Ahmad Wani was not available for comments as his phone was not reachable, while a Whattsapp message sent to him didn’t receive any response till the print time.
Early Times couldn’t verify the authenticity of the order under circulation among netizens.
