Attempt to murder case solved, 4 arrested

Jammu, July 4: Solving an attempt to murder case, Gandhi Nagar Police have arrested four criminals, who chopped off both hands of a history sheeter a week ago.
A senior Police Officer told Early Times that on 27/06/2020 information received from the reliable sources at Police Station Gandhi Nagar that some unknown persons with the intention to kill one Rohan Thapa alias Kallu resident Gorkha Nagar Jammu attacked upon him with sharp edged weapons and caused life threatening injuries to him.
The accused after commission of crime fled away from the spot leaving behind the victim in pool of blood. On this information, case FIR No. 117/2020 U/S 307/341/323 IPC, 4/25 Arms Act was registered at PS Gandhi Nagar Jammu and investigation started.
In order to work out the case a team of officers/ officials of PS Gandhi Nagar under the supervision of SDPO City South and SP City South was constituted for solving the case. The team on the basis of CCTV cameras and other evidences rounded up some criminal elements.
A number of raids were conducted in and outside the district Jammu and after hectic efforts the team was successful in apprehending the accused involved in the above mention case who during questioning disclosed their names as Surjeet Singh alias Shittu, Sanjeev Kumar alias Sanju both resident of Meeran Sahib and Ajay Kumar alias Jaggu resident of R.S.Pura.
It is pertinent to mention here that accused Surjeet Singh alias Shittu had old enmity with the victim and in order to take revenge the accused conspired with his friends to eliminate the victim and they took the help of one person namely Manga son of Gurmez resident Valmiki Colony Gandhi Nagar Jammu who observed the movement of victim and passed the information to Shittu and Sanju.
“On June 27 at 09:45 PM, they attacked upon Rohan Thapa at 2nd C Extension Gandhi Nagar Opposite Bahu Plaza with the intention to kill him. On the disclosure of the accused persons, the team arrested Manga as well and also recovered the weapon of offence used in the commission of crime”, Police said, adding that the arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Gurnam Singh Choudhary SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar with the assistances of Inspr. Raghubir Singh Choudhary Singh SHO Gangyal.
