DDC Kishtwar reviews progress on implementation of POSHAN ABHIYAN

KISHTWAR, July 4: District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara, today convened a meeting of all district officers to review progress on implementation of District Convergence plan under POSHAN ABHIYAN.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar, Joint director Planning Mohd Iqbal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch ,District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Ahmad Qazi, Chief Medical Officer, Dr R .S Manhas, Chief Education Officer, Dr Kuldeep Sharma , Assistant Director FCS&CA, Executive officer MC Tariq Balwan, Executive Engineer PHE N K Gupta besides other concerned.
Program Officer ICDS Kishtwar Pawan Parihar briefed the meeting about the progress achieved so far in implementation of Convergence Plan under POSHAN ABHIYAN.
DDC urged the heads of concerned departments to work in tandem to achieve tangible results under the POSHAN ABHIYAN.
DDC reviews progress made in various quarters including construction of government buildings for effective functioning of Anganwari Centres in rural areas , provision for safe drinking water and child friendly toilet facility in privately hired set ups, maintenance of database of all health checkups and and nutritional status of pregnant ladies, creation of dedicated Cooking facility in the Anganwadi centres, installation of Sanitary Napkins Vending machines at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar and in other identified high schools, providing Jal Jivan kits to AnganWari centres etc
DDC asked PO ICDS for conducting capacity building workshops and training programs for supervisors by the end of this week.
PO, ICDS and ACD Kishtwar were directed for quantification of funds under convergence plan and submit the proposals projected under B2V-2 in this regard for further course of action.
While emphasizing upon the role of PRIs and other religious leaders in effective implementation of POSHAN ABHIYAN and other schemes of ICDS at the gross root level, the DDC asked the Nutritional mobilizers to work in coordination to reach people at gross root level for success of the ambitious ABHIYAN.
