Jammu, July 4: To curb the menace of illicit liquor distillation and illegal smuggling of liquor from neibouring states, Excise officials on the directions of Excise Commissioner, J&K, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, KAS and under supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner( Executive) Jammu, S. Amarjeet Singh, KAS, today conducted series of raids at Kotli Charka, Dablehar and Khour in the Excise sub range Bishnah and R.S Pura, of City Range South.
During the course of raid, 57 pouches (250ml) of illicit liquour and 240 kg lahan was siezed.
One woman was booked under section 48 of the Excise Act.Besides, various retail vends of liquor were also inspected by the excise officials.
The excise team was led by ETO Excise Range, Jammu South Rafie Naik, comprising Excise inspectors Ashwani Sharma and Mukul Sharma, Excise, Sub Inspector Rohit Chib and Excise guard Ajay Sharma. |
