GDC Mandi organizes poster making competition

Mandi, July 4: Govt. Degree College Mandi today organized an Intra- Collegiate poster making competition on the occasion of “International Plastic Bag Free day” on the theme “Say no to Plastic Bags”.
The objective of the programme was to create awareness among students and their family members about the pollution and other hazards caused by plastic items and to make the society plastic bags free.
A total of 14 posters were submitted online by the students, best three posters have been selected and were awarded with e-certificates of merits. First position was secured by Naima Akhter R.no 6 whereas the 2nd and 3rd position were clinched by Asiya Kouser R.no 11 and Iram R.no 24 respectively.
The programme was convened & co-ordinated by Dr. Aurangzeb Anjum and Dr. Shiraz Ahmed, whereas the technical support was provided by Ms Manisha kanchru. The jury members were Dr. Aurangzeb Anjum(convener-IQAC); Dr. Tabassum Naz, (Dept. of Zoology, G.D.C Poonch) and Mr. Ajaz Ahmed (Dept. of Sociology).
The Principal of the college (Dr. Mohammed Azam) congratulated the winners and participating students and eulogized the efforts put in by the organizing committee for organizing a significant and successful online Poster making competition in which students participated with enthusiasm. He further guided that such types of competition will be the future motto for some time in this COVID-19 pandemic situation.
