Young Panther activists stage protest against Power Deptt

Jammu, July 5: The residents of Toph Neelam Colony along with the activists of Young Panthers held protest against Power Development Department (PDD) for imposing unscheduled power cuts during the ongoing hot and humid weather condition and demanded regular power supply.
The protest was organised by the Dixit Sharma along with Bhanu Partap Singh Goria (President Jammu west YP) and Arun Mehra (Distt Vice President YP) in the presence of Partap Singh Jamwal (Sr. Young Panther, JKNPP).
Addressing the Media, Partap Singh Jamwal alleged that for the last few weeks the people of the said areas are facing a lot of problems as power fluctuation, the water supply has also been hit. Concerned PDD staff causes discrimination and in some areas unnecessary long cuts are imposed.
Partap Said that during these hot summer days, long and unscheduled power curtailment has made life miserable.
He said long duration and unscheduled power cuts have made the life of people miserable. He adding that worst affected due to Long duration and unscheduled power cuts are patients, old age persons and children.
Partap said that Central government put tall claims of huge power generations but yet have not got acquainted with the state of power supply in the UT and only delivering sermons of development sitting in AC rooms.
Local Corporator, Rajinder Singh also joined the protest and said these days when the temperature is crossing plus 42°C mark, the department had failed to ensure its regular supply.
