7/5/2020 11:41:15 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

DODA, July 5: Cautioning the civil administration and PHE Department against the supply of contaminated water, ex-MLC and senior leader, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), Syed Asgar Ali has demanded clean drinking supply for the people in Doda town by making filtration plant fully functional.
Chenab Region’s J&K Apni Party Incharge, Syed Asgar Ali, said many people complain that they have developed diseases like typhoid and cholera in the town due to impure drinking water. In a press statement, the former MLC said that the people in Doda town especially have complaints of contaminated water being supplied to them. Hence, they prefer drinking water from the springs which have further aggravated the situation.
He said that there were apprehensions among people that typhoid and cholera may spread like epidemic in the district after several people have fallen ill after drinking contaminated water and if the administration did not wake-up timely, it will turn the situation into disaster especially during the ongoing covid-19 situation.
“The authorities should ensure that the filtration plant functions fully and clean filtered drinking water should be supplied to the people in Doda town,” he advised. The ex-MLC Asgar said that if the situation is not handled timely by the administration and PHE department, the people may face the worst situation especially in view of the coronavirus spread in Jammu and Kashmir.
“There is a need to take serious steps towards redressing the issues of the common people, otherwise the situation may prove fatal for the people as well as for the region,” he said.
